Before she showed up we were *COUGH forced COUGH* asked to think of some questions that we had about the college process and college life. It was actually very informational despite some of the lack luster questions from some of the other classmates.
For instance, one of the questions asked was about which factors should be most considered when applying. Melody told us that even though some things may seem mo
re important than the others everything in the applications process should be seen as a number one priority because what colleges look at the hardest is always changing.
One question that I asked was about college visits and how relevant they really were. Melody said that a college visit can really help you to get the feel of the campus and let you know if it feels like a good fit or not. Of course with some schools that would be difficult if they were across the country, but it could be remedied through an online tour or something along the likes of that.
We had also wondered if scholarships from one college could be used when accepted to another. The answer to that was slightly vague since that depended on both the scholarship and the college.
Of course the big question was asked about campus life. This was when things began to turn into more of a PG13 rating. One student put his hands up on the sides of his head and shouted "My virgin ears!" Aside from that stuff, campus life sounded great with all kinds of activities where you can talk and do hang out with all kinds of people.
Another question was about classes and since Melody went to a smaller school she talked about how the classes were pretty tiny and most of her professors knew her by name. Most classes are challenging but not so hard that you have to freak out all the time. She also talked about credit hours and how to watch them so you can still be considered for certain things.
Most of the other questions didn't really have anything else to do with college... or anything relevant for that matter so I will leave them out of this post. All in all I did find the visit enjoyable and informative and helped me to answer some questions that I had about my own application process.
Until the next post,
